After a successful career in corporate finance in The Far East where he worked in the surreal world of actual and emerging billionaires, James returned to reality and The UK in 1991 where he re-engaged with the tough business of being an entrepreneur.
Having started work at 8 as an assistant to the newspaper boy for sixpence a week, he started his first business at 12 and has been hooked on commerce ever since. He built up and successfully sold one of his businesses in 2014 and retains active interests in a number of enterprises in the UK. He has a strong connection with Sub-Saharan Africa and is currently involved in Mendoza in Argentina, and Chicago in the USA.
He constantly reminds us what it’s like to be a client and how much value accountants have stored in their heads. As hard as he tries to encourage us he finds that we accountants are a shy lot. He looks forward to the day when we have all learned the power and value of what we know.
He has a particular interest in the transition of intellectual and financial wealth across generations and heads up our work on IHT Planning, Corporate Structures, and Heritage Planning. If you have a particularly complex set of competing interests to resolve and don’t know where to start then book in time with James and start talking. Resolving Financial Gordian Knots is his speciality.
